From Stripe to Sage Intacct: A Bidirectional Sync
Managing invoices and collections has never been easier thanks to Stripe and Sage Intacct. Stripe handles payment flows – online, in-person, subscriptions etc – for millions of companies worldwide. Sage Intacct provides a comprehensive financial management platform for companies that have matured beyond their introductory software (like QuickBooks). With Stripe on one end and Sage Intacct on the other, a company has great technology throughout the financial life-cycle.
What may still be missing is a link between these two key systems. Despite being closely related and equally sophisticated, Stripe and Sage Intacct do not have a native integration. Accountants have to manually pull data out of Stripe and run reconciliations, by hand, inside Sage Intacct. It’s a cumbersome, time-consuming process that runs on an endless loop. It’s also prone to error, especially when something like managing a refund makes the normal routine more complicated. The lack of integration puts a stumbling block right at the center of accounting.
Fortunately, integrating Stripe and Sage Intacct is both possible and relatively simple. It involves sending data through an intermediary: often Workato, but Saleforce and others work as well. The mechanics of the integration aren’t what we want to discuss here. Rather, we want to highlight what happens when financial data flows in a bidirectional sync between Stripe and Sage Intacct:
Save Time
The amount of time spent moving data from one system to the other totals days or even weeks of work over the course of an entire year. Integration enables automation so that data travels effortlessly from Stripe into the relevant part of Sage Intacct and vice versa.
Focus Elsewhere
All the time that accountants save with automation can be used for something else: budgeting and planning, deep data analysis, process improvements, tech upgrades or anything else that deserves additional attention.
Prevent Mistakes
Manual data entry makes errors, omissions, and other mistakes inevitable, particularly when doing something routine and repetitive like reconciliations. The consequences of those mistakes could be minor or major. Either way, they’re worth preventing by integrating the data automatically.
Improve Insights
Financial decision makers have an up-to-the-second understanding of financial performance as they don’t have to wait for data to get moved from Stripe to Sage Intacct. Updates happen in near real time so that every decision incorporates the best information available.
Scale Seamlessly
Scaling accounting capabilities can be difficult for companies undergoing growth. Integrated technologies make it easier to adapt when accounting obligations increase by automating distracting workflows and extending visibility into more parts of the financial footprint. One way or another, disconnected tech will only cause growing pains.
Adapt Early
Tomorrow’s companies will leverage integrated technology to make themselves efficient, innovative, and insightful like never before. Companies that start integrating early put themselves at a distinct advantage that will only compound itself in coming years.
Strong separately, Stripe and Sage Intacct work better together. Proseer can handle the integration. More importantly, we can show you how to use integration for maximum advantage. Accounting will never be the same. Contact us to consult.
